Waiting Game

Just about everything we can do to prepare for the trip to Council Bluffs to trade RVs has been finished. We got the LP tank filled, just in time to keep us from freezing tonight when it’s supposed to get down to 22° or 23°. We also borrowed some large plastic bins from Nick’s mother [...]

Meetings

Museum business stuff. We’re trying to get the board of directors together for our initial board meeting to organize the ISM Corporation. Finding a time when everyone is available is not easy, but I think we’ve settled on early Wednesday afternoon. That means we’ll still be in Hiawatha so no problems. Whew! We’ll go up [...]

Windy Weather

It is really blustery today, with gusts up to 40 mph. The old RV is rocking and creaking, and makes me wish we were in the new one already. The new one has leveling jacks which will not only make it level (doh!) but also provide more stability in such conditions. Of course, it is [...]

Shopping

Phil is having some fun browsing for more stuff to put into the new RV. He just found a dishwasher, and earlier was looking at info about satellite radio and TV subscriptions. The Southwind we’ve bought comes with all the equipment preinstalled, but one does need to get the services in order to use them. [...]

The New RV is Ours!

We did it!! The Iowa dealer did in fact have a motor coach we liked, and a price we liked even better, so we bought it! We’ll take delivery late next week, probably Thursday. YAY!!! In fairness to the very assiduous salesguy in Florida, there were some differences in the two coaches more substantial than [...]

Keeping Warm …

At this point, it appears we will not head south until next week to get everything done that must be done here. It’s a good thing the weather has gotten a little warmer, because it got down below 32 deg. F a couple of times last week, and we worried that the holding tanks might [...]

Inc R Us! and RV Shopping

Lots of things going on the past couple of weeks. We’ve found not one, but two Fleetwood Southwind 37C coaches (almost identical to the Pace Arrow, but just a different line). One is in Florida at a very large dealership but they aren’t as interested in giving us a price break as the people in [...]

Back in Kansas

We did stop to look at RVs, and now we’ve got the fever! The Fleetwood Pace Arrow 37C at the place we stopped really got us in the mood to get out of our current rig. However, we want to do some more shopping and comparisons before making a decision, so onward! We arrived back [...]

Boonie Camping

We headed back to Kansas, stopping one night in Missouri on the way, this time at a Flying J truckstop (in Warrenton, MO) instead of an RV park. The WiFi is better than most RV parks, but no hookups. The good part, however, is that parking is free. Wish we had the generator fixed, though! [...]
