Stories from the road for friends and family

On Our Last Leg

We just crossed the Georgia-Florida border a few moments ago, and expect to. e in Palm Bay by late afternoon after stopping in Valdosta for an extra day. It wasn’t the shopping that kept us there, though. I was very disappointed to discover that most of the specialty stores at the outlet mall have closed. It was rather a wasted effort trying to find Christmas presents there, and I actually wound up going to Wal-Mart for the dishes I wanted for the RV instead. Maybe the outlets in Vero Beach have fared better. I hope so.

So, we will be in Florida for about a month this time. With luck we’ll. be able to get all the problems with the RV fixed here before heading west. The water pump in the “house” has been the most aggravating so far, but when we stop and hook up to city water that doesn’t matter. What will make a difference in the 80 degree weather is the non-functioning Zone 2 fan. That will motivate Phil to get the Southwind up to the repair shop if nothing else will. He hates trying to sleep when it’s hot and stuffy. With luck the place in Cocoa will be more efficient than Lazy Days was last year.

It will be good to see more family for the holidays.
